For permanent fitting, the Ecostrad Thermostrip must be installed by a professional electrician as it will need to be hardwired to the mains of your property. This is not a DIY task and should always be left to an expert. If wall mounted, the Thermostrip should always be horizontal with its control panel orientated on the left-hand side. The front face of the heater reaches high temperatures and, in all instances, should never be installed where there is risk of physical contact.
The Thermostrip’s wall brackets are designed so that they can also be used to ceiling mount the heater. Please see the Ecostrad Thermostrip manual for further information. Always ensure that the correct clearance distances are observed: the Thermostrip must be installed no lower than 2.1m from the floor and at least 50cm away from the ceiling and any adjacent walls.
The Thermostrip is designed for indoor application and should not be used in any space that is exposed to gusts and breezes. This is because wind-chill will offset the effects of far infrared heat. It should not be used where there may be persistent draughts: e.g. near roller shutters, doors, windows or outside. If you need a heater for outdoor use, we recommend products in our low-glare patio heater range.
The Ecostrad Thermostrip comes with an IP65 protection rating which means that it is dust-tight and resistant to low pressure jets of water.
Care must always be taken when connecting multiple radiators or heaters to avoid overloading the ring main of your property. If you are unsure, contact a qualified electrician for advice. For a professional installation, cables can be shortened and the heater connected to the mains supply by a fused spur. This work must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
The Ecostrad Thermostrip is a sophisticated infrared heater that’s ideal for use in lofty indoor spaces. Styled in matt black, this glare-free heater provides discreet all-day heating for both commercial and public environments.
This non-remote version of the Thermostrip has a 1800w output which can be adjusted using the simple on/off button at the side of the heater. Our Thermostrip heaters produce no light and offer a mellow heat that’s better suited to use over long periods. Instead of a bulb, these heaters use a stretch of wire filament to produce far infrared, a gentler type of radiant heat that mimics the warmth of the human body. There’s no distracting light and no overbearing heat, just a constant source of pleasant warmth to keep you comfortable throughout the day.
The Ecostrad Thermostrip comes with a robust IP65 protection rating and can heat a maximum area of 10m² indoors. Whether you’re heating a hotel foyer or a chilly church interior, the Thermostrip will provide reliable and comfortable warmth from a sleek, unobtrusive housing. Ecostrad Thermostrip patio heaters come with a 1 Year Manufacturer’s Warranty and can be used alongside other Thermostrip heaters for thorough coverage over large areas.
The brackets provided with the Ecostrad Thermostrip give you the option of wall or ceiling mounting the heater as you see fit. Hardwired outdoor heaters must always be installed by a professional electrician, however, this is usually a quick and easy process with no lengthy callouts required.
Most heating products work by using either convection or radiation. Products like panel heaters or fan heaters provide warmth in the form of a cycle of warm air rising and falling, but as you might imagine, this type of heat doesn’t work well in outdoor applications where warm air quickly dissipates to cooler areas.
Radiant heat doesn’t have this issue – it works by travelling through the air in a wave, directly warming people and objects that it comes into contact with. This makes infrared heaters particularly effective for hard-to-heat interiors as they will always project heat to where it’s needed.
